Exhibitions
ACDC delivers an expansive programme of visual art in the many gallery spaces of Dean Clough. We are responsible for the Dean Clough Collection which is an eclectic mix of the renowned and unknown. The temporary exhibitions ensure that there is always something new for visitors to see and provide artists with space to showcase their work. The galleries at Dean Clough are free to enter, and account for significant arts provision in Calderdale, benefiting local and regional communities.
Performance
ACDC co-ordinates a range of diverse events and presentations in its principal gallery. These include dance, yoga and regular music recitals.
Education
The galleries, studio artists and art school are a resource that can be used by groups to extend their understanding via creative practices. ACDC studio artists contribute to the charity’s education programme and deliver bespoke courses for schools, colleges and universities.
Studios
ACDC facilitates studios for 27 artists based on the site. Artists benefit from dedicated spaces to pursue their practice. They also have the opportunity to exhibit regularly in our galleries and open their studios to the general public. They are a central part of the creative community.
Art School
The recently developed Art School in Fletcher’s Mill is a dedicated space for creative practitioners to host workshops for the local community as well as opportunities to develop artistic skills further.
Community Arts Activities
The Amma Ji arts programme supports South Asian elderly women. The Brightside Arts Club Café provides taught art workshops for people living with dementia. In addition ACDC offers regular sessions for creative writing, Age UK and neurodivergent art workshops.
