I am a composer, writer and singer. I am classically trained, with a Masters in singing and a Postgraduate Diploma in composition, but my roots lie in folk music and my interests span musical cultures from across both this world and many others.
Since 2019 I have been working on my project ‘Almeomusica’, developing the musical traditions of another reality, Almea. Almea is richly documented chiefly by its original creator Mark Rosenfelder, in around 4 million words published in print and online. I am currently trying to draw my work on this project together into a multimedia website where music will be presented alongside pseudomusicological writing, a 90-year family saga, a diary illustrated in sound, and practical instructions for making Almean music.
Whilst I enjoy reinventing the wheel, it’s also nice to use preexisting wheels sometimes, so I continue to create terrestrial music, too, when I am not travelling the interdimensional planes!
I love collaboration. Almeomusica has already involved a deep level of collaboration, and my vision is for it to grow and involve community and professional musicians from anywhere in this world who are interested in discovering an otherworld in sound.
