I’m a freelance artist, often making work for outdoor performance – puppets, props, sets and costumes. I occasionally treat myself to a nice sit-down indoor job – usually illustration, graphic design or social media.
As a qualified teacher, I began my career in secondary education and moved across to gallery education at Manchester Art Gallery and community arts. I currently balance my time between making art and facilitating the creativity of others.
I am a co-director of Eye of Newt Theatre Arts, working collaboratively with two other women to produce interactive, playful family theatre. As a lead artist with Handmade Productions, I feel rooted in the Calderdale community and inspired by the creativity here. Other clients include 509 Arts; Walk the Plank; Plunge Boom; Cartwheel Arts; Wild Rumpus; Spot On Lancashire and many local councils.
