Sea-change Theatre Company are an International touring theatre company based in the UK, founded by writer, creative activist, and ”queer theatre legend” (Out Savvy), Sue Frumin.
Their first production was an adaptation of “The Tempest” and was produced for Skala Eressos Women’s Festival in 2016 in Lesvos, Greece as a promenade production. Directed by Ray Malone and designed by Lu Firth.
After the success of the production in Greece the company presented the play in London in 2017. Sue Frumin and Ray Malone developed the writing and dramaturgy of their adaptation to make it relevant to the surroundings and history of The Rose Playhouse on Bankside.
In 2018, they presented “Fine and Dandy”, adapted from its’ original format as a one-person show, at The Arcola Theatre and then again at The Kings Head, London directed by Lil Warren.
Since Covid, Sue Frumin worked with Hayley Cartwright and Out in the Valley in Hebden Bridge and produced two pantomimes “No Sign of Dick” and “A Queerky Christmas Carol”. Both of which involved local members of the LGBTQ community in Calderdale and had sell-out houses.
Sue Frumin also created “A Warholian Experience” in London, and a “Celebration of Victoria Wood” and “Molly’s and Dandy’s Speakeasy in association with Nelson’s Wine Bar in Hebden Bridge. She also ran play reading workshops during lock-down with Steve McKay and Hayley Cartwright.
Sea-change Theatre has recently resurrected itself to produce “Raising the Wreck” with Hayley Cartwright and Sue Frumin acting as producers and hope to tour in 2026/2027.
