I’m a writer, theatre maker, and performance creative driven by a passion for stories that connect us. I describe myself first as a writer because that’s where everything begins for me, but my practice spans performance, collaborative creation, and producing work both inside and outside traditional theatre spaces. I love researching people, history, and ideas, developing them into narratives that feel honest, thoughtful, and resonant. I believe deeply that arts and culture should be for everyone, and I strive to make work that is accessible, inclusive, and meaningful.
My work includes commissions such as The Crow and the Wood of Wishes (LeftCoast/Lightpool), Walk With Me (Talking Birds), The Fear of Fear (Warwick Arts Centre), The Road to Huntsville (China Plate/Bitesize – Arts Voice Award winner), Dylan’s Parents (Royal Court/Birmingham REP), and Unknown Male (Birmingham REP – Peter Brook/Mark Marvin Award winner).
I am also the Founder and Artistic Director of Tappin’ In. Tappin’ In grew from a co-created tap dancing and storytelling project celebrating communities in the West Midlands as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Cultural Programme. In 2025, the project expanded to work with communities across the East Midlands and beyond. Its mission is to break down barriers to participation in the arts by sparking joy, creativity, and connection through movement, rhythm, and shared stories. My aim is to create joyful, community-driven experiences where everyone, regardless of background or experience, feels welcome and empowered.
At the heart of all my work is a belief in co-creation, inclusivity, and shared human experience, alongside a commitment to making space for voices that aren’t often heard. Through all my work my aim is the same: to create art that invites everyone in and leaves us feeling a little more connected than before.
