Tom Langford has had a two-decade long career in production roles across theatre, performance, festivals and live events. Originally gaining experience in the live art world, he has since supported the delivery of numerous venue-based, site-specific and festival productions, as well as working outdoors at scale both nationally and internationally. In February 2024, he took up the post of Executive Production and Event Manager for Bradford City of Culture.
As a freelance Production Manager and consultant since 2003, Tom has collaborated with leading companies and organisations including Headlong, the Royal Exchange Manchester, Imitating the Dog, Nevill Holt Opera, Birmingham Hippodrome, and China Plate. His credits include A View from the Bridge (Headlong/Chichester Festival Theatre/Rose Kingston), Taste of Honey (Royal Exchange Manchester), Macbeth (Imitating the Dog, international tour), and major cultural moments such as the Commonwealth Games 2022 Cultural Programme (To the Streets, Tappin’ In) and Coventry’s City of Culture 2021 opening ceremony Coventry Moves.
From 2011–2022, Tom was Technical Manager at Warwick Arts Centre, leading a team delivering over 500 live events annually and spearheading technical upgrades, immersive productions and new performance spaces. A UK Theatre Inspiring the Future ambassador, he is committed to mentoring, training and widening access to careers in production.
Tom is also a passionate advocate for how sustainable energy sources can be deployed in live event delivery, combining his technical expertise with a forward-thinking approach to creating impactful, environmentally responsible productions.
