I am a qualified teacher, fibre artist and founder of the WoollyArt Club that meets weekly in Sowerby. I spin, weave and dye my own yarns and use recycled waste materials, fabrics and stitching to make abstract and impressionist textile art pieces. I teach workshops and provide one to one and group tuition in spinning and weaving as well as other textile crafts. I take commissions and exhibit my work. I am based in the old Sunday School at Steep Lane Baptist Chapel in Sowerby where we are at the beginning of developing a small hub for textile artists and people who work with wool in Calderdale. I believe strongly in inclusivity and community. I promote art and craft practice as a means of supporting our well being. I can also be found via the Whatsapp group ‘The Woolly People of Calderdale.’
