In spring 2026 four of our original Steering Group members volunteered to be the inaugural directors of the company that was established in July 2026 to take over the running of the network: Calderdale Creates Limited.
In autumn 2026 elections will be held to recruit more directors to join Clare, David, Laurie and Rosie in running CalderdaleCreates network.

Laurie Sansom

Laurie is a theatre director and the Artistic Director and Joint CEO of Halifax-based theatre company Northern Broadsides.
Clare Townley
Company Director
Clare is a multi award-winning environmental campaigner and greentrepreneur, poet, and speaker with a passion for low-carbon living, creative communication, and equity in all its forms.
Rosie Scott
Company Director
Rosie is the Director of Engagement for Arvon, the UK’s home of creative writing, and based at Lumb Bank Writing House near Hebden Bridge.
