About me:
I have been professionally involved in theatre and drama since 1988 in a wide variety of roles including: performing; UK and EU touring on all scales; venue, event and festival production and management. I am a licensed Drama Psychotherapist, a passionate advocate for veganism, animal rights and our LGBTQ communities.

About my journey with CalderdaleCreates:

Since 1999 I have worked for Calderdale in which time I’ve managed The Victoria Theatre, Hebden Bridge Picture House, The Piece Hall and Todmorden Town Hall: often with a view to helping transform the future of the venues. I have been heavily involved in youth work especially through Ignite Creativity (Calderdale’s Cultural Education Partnership), and have launched the annual Halifax Comedy Festival and Antidote (an ongoing experimental music programme). I was the Chair of Calderdale’s first ever Pride committee and event and have a very deep professional interest in the role of Play, Arts and Culture in individual and community mental and physical health.

For me, CalderdaleCreates represents a real opportunity to showcase and help support the development of Calderdale’s impressive cultural ecology with a view to nourishing and enriching people’s lives, businesses and the economy of the Borough. As a strategic Cultural Partnership, CalderdaleCreates can help all parts of this wonderfully diverse Borough step with confidence onto the regional and national stage. At its heart Culture is about compelling storytelling and representation: and wow, Calderdale has some stories to tell!
